About Me

We have several pets in our house.  We own a kitty and three dogs.  Two of those dogs are Corgis (the other is a black lab), and they are both still puppies.  Sometimes, I think that they think they are one of the kids.  Either that or they think the kids are puppies like them.

Either way, we all usually get along wonderfully.  There are moments when puppies and kids are tired and get a little grumpy and snappy, but for the most part we are one big happy family.  The boys and the dogs really get along.  Here are some photos that show just how deep the friendship goes.

Growing Up

My youngest's birthday is on Thursday, but we celebrated this weekend.  He had his cousins and his friend stay the night on Friday night.  He opened presents, and we had cake an ice cream.  Then, they stayed up late playing and watching movies.

It was a good time.  Of course, he was really tired yesterday, but that's the price he had to pay for fun.  Last night, we had a family get together for his birthday, so we went out to eat, then headed to his great-grandparents' house for cupcakes and ice cream.  That was really fun too.

On Thursday--his actual birthday--I'll probably make him something fun for dinner.  I'll let him decide exactly what he wants.

Do you do anything special for birthdays?

Amazing Day in the Snow

Sorry for the incredibly late post, but we were having an amazing day today.  It started with an awesome day snowmobiling.  The snow was so deep!  The boys couldn't go very far off trail without getting stuck, but we had a lot of fun.

This was just the snow on the trail.  It was a lot deeper off trail.

When we got home, there was football to watch, so we've been hanging out doing that.  I hope all of you had an amazing Sunday also!

Winter Break is DEFINITELY Over

Last week was the boys’ first week back to school after two weeks off. It was a hard transition. Throughout the week, they were tired and crabby. It was difficult getting back into the routine. They wanted to be able to be lazy and do what they wanted, not have a structured day full of learning. UGH!

I can’t blame them. I got used to taking naps every day over the break. I was exhausted every afternoon at work. But we all survived, so now it should be smooth sailing until Spring Break.

My youngest had an extra exciting week. He lost his first tooth, and then he lost his second within a few days. He was thrilled to have the Tooth Fairy come, although I don’t think he wants to lose any more teeth right now.

I finally took the tree down yesterday. The boys asked if we could keep it up for a little longer, so I did. Yesterday was my limit though. I was tired of watering it and looking at all the pine needles on the floor. I’m glad the boys had such a great holiday, but now it’s time to get on with our year.

My hope is that 2016 is amazing. I’m sure it will have its ups and downs, but I hope there are more ups than downs. I hope that your 2016 is awesome too.
