The sequel to The Ifs, The Ifs Return, is coming out in May!

THE IFS RETURN takes us deep into the Ifs' underground village as Landon and Broden are called upon again to find the menacing If, Gage - who now has MAGIC!

Meet more Ifs, more fun beasts (including one hungry attack squirrel in the Ifs' underground chambers) and more excitement as the brothers shriiinnnkkk and freeze in time (!) at the mercy of Gage's fierce magic.

Can the brothers save themselves, their family AND save Slade and his village from evil Gage? Read THE IFS RETURN to find out!

I honestly can't believe that May is almost here.  This year has flown by so far!  Soon, the boys will be out of school and summer will be here.  That's going to be fun.  Who's looking forward to summer vacation?

Snow Day!

This past week, the weather has been crazy.  It has snowed more in the past 3 days than it has the entire winter!  I don't mind, I like the snow, I just wish it had come earlier in the year.  This is getting to the point of ridiculous!

On Friday, the kids got their first snow day since my oldest has been in school--and he's now a 2nd grader!  I was happy that they got out early, though.  Even though as I was picking them up, the sun was shining and the roads were clearing off.  Still, I felt much better being at home with them knowing we didn't have to venture out again.

The boys spent their afternoon playing video games, putting together Legos, and fighting--always fighting.  Drives me crazy how much they fight!  I took a nap on the couch.  It was awesome.

What are some of your favorite things to do on a snow day?

Precious Memories

Last weekend, our family lost a valuable member: our 7-month-old corgi puppy Rolo.  His death was sudden and mysterious, and it has affected us all very deeply.  He'd only been with us for such a short amount of time.

But instead of focusing on the bad, I would like to tell you about the joy Rolo brought to our family while he was a part of it.

Rolo was raised with labs, so I'm fairly certain he thought he was one.  Our other dog, Ryder, is a lab, so Rolo bonded  with him instantly.  Ryder wasn't quite sure about his at first--Rolo liked to go after his tail--but it didn't take long for them to become fast friends.

Rolo and Ryder used to love to play chase.  Rolo would stand on one side of the couch, then when Ryder went to get him, he would run behind the couch to the other side.  Ryder would try to get him there, and the game would ensue.  It was so funny to watch them run back and forth!  Ryder would growl and bark like he was tough, but his tail was wagging the entire time and never once did he ever hurt his little buddy.

Rolo had also recently started a new game when we would get ready to leave the house.  It was called:  "Oh, you're leaving?  Let me run away from you until you give me a treat."

He also was very good about making sure I got up in the morning.  I swear he waited for my alarm to go off, then he would stand by the bed and jump and whine until I got up.

Despite the short time he was with us, Rolo was a huge part of our family.  He is greatly missed, but we'll always have him in our hearts.
