The Happiest of Thanksgivings

I hope that you all had a wonderful and amazing Thanksgiving. I know we did. We got to spend time with family and friends, and we stuffed ourselves silly with fantastic food.

You know dinner is a success when 3/4 of the adults fall asleep afterwards.

Now, it’s only a short amount of time before Christmas gets here. The boys will have to endure a few long weeks of school, but time will fly by.

I can’t believe it’s almost the end of the year! Talk about time flying. I hope the rest of the year goes swimmingly for you. I’m thankful you’ve been part of this amazing journey with me!

Winter is Here

And you know what that means...SNOWMOBILING!

I've only been out once so far, but the boys have been twice, and all of us are heading out today to hit the snow.  We had some pretty good snowstorms this week, so we're hoping the riding is good.

No matter what, though, with all of us there, it's going to be an awesome time!  I love being able to spend this kind of time with my family.

Winter can be long and brutal, but by participating in a winter sport, it isn't so bad. And it flies by way too fast.

What do you do to keep busy in the winter?

A Night in the Big City

On Friday, my family and I had the opportunity to see the Lion King onstage.  The boys and I went with my sister, my niece and nephew, and my mom.  We had an amazing time!

My mom, sister, and I had seen the Lion King onstage years ago.  I didn't have any kids at the time, and my sister's were really young, but we knew we wanted to bring them back when they were older.  We were pretty dang sure they would love it.

The play was showing in Denver, which is about 2 hours away from where we live, so we headed down in the afternoon.  I'm not a fan of going to Denver because of the traffic.  It's been so bad the last few times we went down, and this time wasn't any different.  It was stop and go for the majority of the drive.  That gets really frustrating.

Thankfully, we had a DVD player in the car, so the kids were entertained, and when we got into Denver, they were both excited and nervous about being there.  They were excited because they'd never really been in downtown before--especially at night--so they wanted to explore.  They were nervous because they'd never been in downtown Denver at night before.

The show was absolutely amazing.  It was just as magical as I remembered it, and the kids really seemed to enjoy it.  It makes me so happy to be able to do these types of things with my boys and give them new and wonderful experiences.
Did you do anything exciting this weekend?

The Happiest of Halloweens

I hope you all had fantastic Halloweens yesterday.

As usual, the weather here was iffy, but that's to be expected in October.  It was incredibly windy and cold, but all of us dressed in layers so we could battle the elements.  Hard as it tried, the weather couldn't stop us from going out and getting candy.

My boys had a blast!  We went trick-or-treating with their grandma, then later their cousins came over so they could all go.  They brought in a huge haul of candy, and I'm sure we'll be eating on it for a while.  I hope the rest of you were just as successful and aren't suffering from a sugar hangover.
