School Day Reads

School is now back if full swing, and you know what that means:  READING!

If you're looking for something fun and exciting for your kiddos to read, have I got some books for you!  From picture books to middle grade, I have what they need to get them through!  Full of excitement and adventure, these books will keep your kids coming back for more!

Trust me, I totally know how important reading is and that most kids have a reading log they have to fill out to show how much they've read at home.  Personally, I hate those things.  I don't think they actually encourage reading but instead make it a chore.  Instead of reading for enjoyment, they're reading to fill out a piece of paper.  That's not how you instill the love of reading in a child.

However, I'm also aware that in many cases, we have to play the game.  So why not turn reading and filling out these forms from a chore into something fun?  Make reading enjoyable again.  Make it the escape and relaxation it's supposed to be.  No matter which book you and your kids choose, make sure you really enjoy it.  And if you decide to use some of mine, I hope you like them.

All the woodland creatures love Mr. Chocolate s amazing garden, but most of all they look forward to the harvest of his Magic Js. They are sweet and juicy, the best fruit any of them have ever tasted. They are so appealing that they draw the interest of an antelope family, Mr. and Mrs. Little House, who rarely venture into the forest. When Mr. and Mrs. Little House secretly gorge on the Magic Js, they learn a very important lesson about the benefits of sharing with others.
Available at Amazon.

There seems to be a monster in mommy's tummy. It growls a lot, especially in the morning. What does it look like? Does it have one eye or two? Maybe it has long yellow claws and sharp white teeth. Mommy says to tame a tummy monster, you have to feed it. There's a Monster in Mommy's Tummy is an adorable and fully illustrated children's book that reveals the answer to a question kids often wonder about. Why do tummies growl?
Available at Amazon.

“Mom, Landon’s throwing food!”

“No, I’m not!”

Landon and Broden are brothers. And some days they DO NOT get along very well. They spend most of their days fighting, arguing and plotting ways to get revenge on each other. Then, strange things start happening… Noises in their room that are not the cat. Homework is mysteriously finished. A broken shoelace repairs all by itself. Clothes are put in the hamper on their own. The brothers want to share their weird experiences, but they don’t know if they can trust each other. But when they find out who’s behind all the strange things around the house, they are called to battle.

Battle? Whoa! Right there in the forest by their house! A battle with the most unusual creatures and wildest of beasts. And when the battle turns more dangerous than they imagined, Landon and Broden must face their fears, put their grudges aside and learn how to work together.
Available at Amazon.

“Gage escaped.”

These are the worst words Broden could hear from his big brother Landon—just one day after they battled alongside Slade’s Ifs and his army of forest beasts.

Sure, the brothers had learned to work together to fight and capture the evil If Gage. But, now, Slade has informed them that Gage has escaped!
Fear and distrust have entered the boys’ world. Why should they help Slade if he can’t keep control of his prisoners? Will they be able to fight against a familiar foe? Plus, Landon has more news…

“Gage has magic.”

What kind of magic? Will he use it against them? As the boys are drawn into yet more adventure with the Ifs, they find out just how powerful, and dangerous, Gage’s magic can be.
