Happy Anniversary!

This weekend, we went to Rock Springs to help my parents celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.  It was a blast!  We had a party and hung out with family.  We couldn't remember the last time all of us kids were there with our families.

In addition, all the cousins got to hang out together and had an awesome time.  We really need to do this more often!

The cake was absolutely delicious!  I had two pieces.

My mom setting up the projector for the slideshow.

My sister getting the balloons ready.

My parents, my siblings, and I.

The kids were even helpful with taking photos and keeping themselves busy!

This weekend we got away from the city and headed into the hills for some fresh air.  We had a great time hiking, riding around on the Jeep trails, and picnicking.  Flowers were in full bloom and the grass was green.  We even saw a deer up there!

Later in the afternoon, we went to the theater to see How to Train Your Dragon 2.  It was AWESOME!

We had a fantastic weekend.

Can you see the deer in this photo?

We're Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo

Actually, we already went to the zoo, and we had a great time!  We spent Father's Day hanging out as a family and checking out all the awesome animals.  The boys even helped me take pictures.  Can you tell which ones are theirs?

The oldest's favorite part of the zoo was Monkey Island and Monkey Village.  The  youngest really liked ALL the animals.  We can't wait to go back!

Great News!

It's official, Little Devil Books will be publishing The Ifs Return.  I signed and returned the contracts last week.

My boys are also super excited about this.  I've read them The Ifs, and then we read The Ifs Return, even though it wasn't in book form yet, and they hung on my every word.  They even paid me the highest compliment:  they asked to read it again!

I will keep you all informed of when the book is available.  I can't wait!

It's Here!

Summer has finally arrived, and the boys couldn't be more excited.  They have lots of fun stuff planned, including vacations and field trips.  The oldest is even planning on working on a story this summer.  It's an extension of a project he started in class.  It's a moon legend.  He's read me the first couple of pages, and I'm impressed.  I can't wait to see where the story goes.

What kinds of exciting things do you have planned for the summer break?
